A club built for rural talent

Kerumbe Athletics Sports Club was founded by chairman Steve Makwae Gekara to help gifted young athletes in Kenya's rural primary and secondary schools access sponsorship, training, equipment and mentorship. Our purpose is simple: bring athletics from the countryside to the mainstream while keeping education at the heart of every athlete's journey.

2026 breakthrough

Belgut Marathon 2026

Our participation in the Belgut Marathon in Kabianga marked a breakthrough for Kerumbe Athletics. The event brought together champions and leaders including Eliud Kipchoge, Kipchumba Murkomen, Hon Nelson Koech, Ezekiel Kemboi, Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, Hon Linet Chepkorir Toto and Ferdinand Omanyala.
